REMOS snags a Skycatcher deposit

Thu, 2008-02-07

Atlanta, GA – John Garabedian had put in his $5,000 deposit on a new Cessna Skycatcher C-162 and had settled in for what he expected would be a three to four year wait for delivery. Then he learned that the aircraft was going to be manufactured by another company in Beijing, China called the Shenyang Aircraft Company. John was not happy.

After learning that REMOS Aircraft would honor his $5,000 deposit, by reducing the cost of a new, ready to fly aircraft, John began studying the numbers. He discovered the REMOS climbs at 1,300 fpm while the Skycatcher only gets 890 fpm at full power; the G3 gets off in 330’ and Skycatcher needs 770’; useful load in the REMOS is 695 pounds whereas the Skycatcher can only haul 490 pounds (subtract 120 pounds for 20 gallons of fuel and it drops to 370 pounds).

John was so impressed with the performance numbers and styling, with the fact that the aircraft is made in a country that prides itself on precision and quality control, and with the immediate availability, that he flew down to Georgia to see the G-3 and take a test flight with REMOS dealer David Bowers. He flew the REMOS for 1.5 hours, fell in love with the airplane and flew home in his new REMOS G3 sport aircraft.

“One flight in the Remos G3 was all it took to convince me that this is one of the finest quality aircraft ever built in both design and construction,” said John. “It flies like a dream, with no bad habits. Just like a ‘Benz, ‘Beamer, or a Porsche, the long tradition of quality German attention to detail and mechanical perfection jumps out with the REMOS. Cessna will struggle with quality control in China.”
